Winsted Federal is the dedicated federal contracting entity of Winsted Company, LLC — the global leader in control room console design, technical furniture, and operator-focused environments since 1963.
We deliver end-to-end solutions for agencies where operational uptime, security, and human performance are non-negotiable.
Winsted Federal exists to streamline federal procurement of the same world-class control room solutions that Winsted has delivered to hundreds of mission-critical installations worldwide. Our portfolio — consoles, 24/7 seating, raised flooring, equipment racks, monitor walls, and full technical furniture systems — is engineered for 24/7 reliability, ergonomic performance, and seamless technology integration.
Through our Design Matters division, we also provide full-scope control room design consultancy: gap analysis, operator-focused research, environmental assessments covering acoustics, lighting, HVAC, traffic flow, and over 100 measurable variables that directly impact operator performance. Winsted has upgraded control rooms in one-third of U.S. nuclear facilities and delivered installations for the FBI, U.S. Air Force, DOE, and numerous civilian agencies.
Pinnacle, Sightline, Vue, Viking, and E-SOC product lines — configurable for any room geometry, sit/stand or fixed, open or closed base, with integrated cable management, power, and data distribution.
Winsted's Custom Division in Duluth, GA designs and fabricates bespoke consoles and millwork for unique agency requirements, including NUREG 0700-compliant configurations for nuclear facilities.
Design Matters provides on-site consulting, gap analysis, 3D space planning, ergonomic assessment, and construction-ready documentation — from concept through commissioning.
Pro-Series II racks, Paramount cabinets, M-View monitor walls, raised access flooring, and 24/7-rated seating — everything the room needs, from the floor up.
Operator-first design methodology: fatigue reduction, sightline optimization, adjustable monitoring positions, distraction minimization, and compliance with ISO, OSHA, and NRC guidelines.
Modular, scalable systems designed for long-term serviceability. Pinnacle's sliding worksurface enables cable access without disrupting operators — the first of its kind in the industry.
Every product line is manufactured in the USA and available in standard, customized, or fully custom configurations.
Flagship. Sliding worksurface, 3-tier cable management, Qi charging.
Gold standard modular console. Drop-well design, Dyna-Linq power, infinite configs.
Configurable, connectable workstations for multi-operator environments.
Robust, value-engineered console for high-volume deployments.
Purpose-built for security operations centers and monitoring environments.
Design Matters is Winsted's in-house design consultancy with more than 35 years of experience creating control room environments for utilities, defense, public safety, and federal agencies. The team conducts deep on-site analysis — measuring over 100 variables including acoustics, lighting, HVAC, operator workflow, and fatigue patterns — to produce environments that measurably improve performance and safety.
Services range from initial gap analysis and feasibility studies through full construction documentation, and the team works directly with end users, A&E firms, and systems integrators at every stage.
